Install WordPress with one click
WordPress, Joomla, Moodle and other apps.
WordPress is ready-made software for websites and blogs. The one-click installation sets up WordPress together with its database automatically. You do not have to create a database yourself.
You do not have to use WordPress. The web server also serves your own HTML or PHP pages. To do this, simply place the files in the web folder, see Upload files.
Installation
- Open apps: In Plesk, select the one-click installation.
- Choose WordPress: Set the target domain. The domain must already exist in the webspace.
- Database: It is created automatically. You should still save the login details in case you need them later.
- Administrator login: After installation, log in with the admin account. Replace any password that was previously public with your own straight away.
After installation
- Keep up to date: Security holes in WordPress and plugins are the most common reason websites get hacked. Install updates regularly.
- Remove unneeded plugins: Every plugin is an additional attack surface.
- Enable SSL: See SSL certificate, so visitors connect encrypted.
- Create a backup: Create a backup before updates, so you can return to a working state after an error.
Avoid the username
admin. An individual name makes login attempts harder to guess.
