vServer: variants
Intel Xeon, AMD EPYC, Storage and Virtual Dedicated Server compared.
All vServers run as KVM machines with SSD storage and a freely selectable configuration. The variants differ in hardware and intended use.
| Intel Xeon KVM | Intel Xeon Gold hardware. For general services such as web servers or applications. |
|---|---|
| AMD EPYC KVM | AMD EPYC hardware. For applications with many cores or heavy parallel load. |
| Storage KVM | Focus on storage capacity, e.g. for backups or media files. |
| Virtual Dedicated Server KVM | Virtual machine with fixed resources, so other customers cannot slow it down. |
Which variant?
- Little storage, lots of compute: EPYC or Intel Xeon.
- Lots of storage, backups: Storage KVM.
- Load peaks must not affect you: Virtual Dedicated Server.
