Transfer a domain
Move an existing domain from another provider.
General procedure
- At the current provider, unlock the domain (remove the transfer lock).
- Request the auth code or EPP code.
- At PawHost, transfer the domain with the code.
- Confirm the transfer by email or with the old provider.
How long does it take?
For most extensions such as .com, .net or .org, an ICANN rule applies: the current provider has five calendar days to confirm the transfer. If it does not respond, the transfer is then automatically approved. The domain is then transferred within a few days. Overall, the process usually takes at most about seven days.
The domain remains reachable during the transfer.
