What does colocation mean?
With colocation, you place your own hardware in a provider's data center. The provider supplies power, cooling, network connection and access control. You own and operate the devices.
A rack is not the same as a server. The cabinet only provides space and a power connection. The customer chooses and maintains the hardware.
